Aerial Labor & Equipment Rules & Regulations
Important Information
- All ceiling rigging must conform to show management rules and regulations, and facility limitations. Refer to show management rules and regulations for event specific height restrictions.
- All overhead hanging must be assembled, installed, and removed by Freeman. Exhibitor’s display company and/or I & D representatives may supervise but will not be allowed to assemble/disassemble or install/remove rigging or flown objects. Only Freeman employees will be permitted in lifts.
- Exhibitor is required to provide Freeman withs an engineered print of all truss, lighting, and rigging including point loads per our facility agreement. Failure to provide a .DWG file of the rigging plot with point loads and all hanging material weights by the advance deadline date may prohibit the rig from being hung during the requested time window and Exhibitor will be responsible for any increased costs resulting from such failure.
- All hardware, including but not limited to eye bolts, must be shouldered, forged, stamped, and rated for overhead lifting. In the event Exhibitor provides non-compliant hardware, Freeman will replace such hardware at Exhibitor's cost.
- Components provided by outside vendors are considered freight and are subject to material handling charges.
- All hanging structures over 249 lbs. will require the use of an additional lifting device (e.g., chain hoist, chain fall).
- Exhibitors are required to order electrical service requirements to power motors or hoists through the electrical service provider.
Rigged Structures
Freeman requires a stamped certification from an appropriately qualified design professional (i.e., a civil or structural engineer who is licensed in the United States) affirming structural integrity, calculations, and specifications for any custom-built suspended elements including but not limited to signs, lightboxes, headers, video wall surrounds, and entry portals. Should Exhibitor fail to provide such stamped certification, Freeman reserves the right to not rig the applicable overhead structure. For additional assistance regarding these requirements, please contact us.
Tie-offs
Freeman requires a stamped certification from an appropriately qualified design professional (i.e., a civil or structural engineer who is licensed in the United States) affirming structural integrity, calculations and specifications for any structure to provide additional support terminating to the venue (e.g., tie-off of header, seismic lines, tie-off of video walls). Should Exhibitor fail to provide such stamped certification, Freeman reserves the right to not rig the applicable structure. If you anticipate needing this service, please contact us for review and pre-authorization.
Video Display
Freeman requires a stamped certification from an appropriately qualified design professional (i.e., a civil or structural engineer who is licensed in the United States) for all non-serially manufactured LED and Video Display systems. All LED and Video Display systems must comply to ANSI E1.50-1 standards. An assembly and disassembly plan shall be sent to Freeman for review. Should Exhibitor fail to provide such stamped certification, Freeman reserves the right to not set up the Video Display system. If you anticipate needing this service, please contact us.
